Simplyfing

I have been reading a christian book on ways to simplify your life so you can make more time for things that are important. Its amazing to look at all the things we let take over our lives. Work , school, running kids here and there. There's so many things that replace the things that we should have at the top of our priority list. Like getting in Gods word EVERY day. Praying, spending time with family and I don't mean in front of the tv. I know I get busy doing one thing or another and put off spending time with God. I'll do it when I get done with this or that. Then when this or that is done I still find something else to do and I wind up either not reading my bible or only having a few minutes before bed. So I want to challenge you ,as I'm challenging myself . Make time for God everyday. Set aside time for prayer and getting in God's word. Be still and listen to God.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

You know. . . I just let out a big sigh! I'm 60 years old now, been through a lot (didn't want to say been there done that!!!), and I have to say, I wish I had simplified my life a long, long time ago. I wanted everything, I wanted to DO everything, I wanted to go everywhere, and I wanted to BE everything. Lots of it sounded very spiritual, like teaching, writing, mentoring, entertaining, and doing, doing, doing. . . .!!!!! I was spinning my wheels a lot! I've come to realize I can live on so little and be happy, I can find so much joy in little things, and weed out a lot that was never meant for me.
You are on the right track and I hope you find just the right niche for you and your family!

I must say this Karen, that I really need to simplify. And it would help if I could simplify blogging because it can get in the way of God,housework, and family.Deb
