Simplyfing

I have been reading a christian book on ways to simplify your life so you can make more time for things that are important. Its amazing to look at all the things we let take over our lives. Work , school, running kids here and there. There's so many things that replace the things that we should have at the top of our priority list. Like getting in Gods word EVERY day. Praying, spending time with family and I don't mean in front of the tv. I know I get busy doing one thing or another and put off spending time with God. I'll do it when I get done with this or that. Then when this or that is done I still find something else to do and I wind up either not reading my bible or only having a few minutes before bed. So I want to challenge you ,as I'm challenging myself . Make time for God everyday. Set aside time for prayer and getting in God's word. Be still and listen to God.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Prayers Needed

Good Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I just wanted to ask for some prayers this week. We are having a very rough time right now. Don't really want to go in details here, but the stress is getting to me and dh. With only one more week in the month I could really use those extra prayers. God knows the needs if you would be so kind to just lift us up in prayer. I guess I must have been kin to Thomas as all those doubts come flowing in. As I lay in bed last nite with tears rolling down each side of my face all I could think about was the song I Need the Every Hour. I know God will see us thru if I just Trust and Obey, which seems harder at times than others. So my verse for the week is Mark 9:24 " I do have faith; help me to have more!"
Thank you in advance for you fervent prayers, Blessings to each of you, Karen

P.S. Dont forget to leave a comment under the book giveaway so your name will be entered in the drawing!

Look at this face!

As most of you know I have 3 boys. Well anytime I can love on a girl I take advantage of it. This Is Kyrsten ,my ex-s little girl , her mom Shannon is one of my best friends. So when Shannon has to work I keep Kyrsten! Everytime I see her I could just eat her up, shes so sweet, never cries just a good baby in general. Anyways I just wanted to share a pic of another one of my precious babies with you all. Blessings Karen (date of photo 7/18/08)

Fresh Georgia peaches

My wonderful hubby brought me home a box of fresh Ga. peaches the other day so let me tell you what all Ive done with them. I have made pickled peaches, peach cobbler, peach butter and even put some in the freezer. This is the first year that I have really tried to can anything , but it has all turned out pretty good. (ignore date on pics I think that camera has a mind of its own)
I do have to admit that I have gotten a little overwhelmed by all the foods to get canned or frozen. I have felt like I just cant get everything done that needs to be done. I have all these plans each morning but at the end of the day I just havent gotten it all done.
I made a post over at MJ's forum this am about not enough time to do things and the farmgirls have once again made me feel better about those feelings. So I am not going to worry about what doesnt get done because of course theres always tommorow.
If you havent had a chance to check out Mary Janes site heres the forward: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-connection/
come on over and check it out my screen name is Ga. Girl so if you see me tell me hello!

What a great weekend, some of my family got together for my granny's 89th b-day which is this Tues. I took a few pics before my stinkin batteries died. I also had a visit from my new niece ans her big sister. Went to church Sun. am, and came home and had more company who are some dear friends we hardly ever get to see, but guess what once again God sent them here! God is soooooo good. I sit here with tears in my eyes, he knows our every need and he knows who can help and when. They brought me a whole trunk load of food!!!! Meats, flour, sugar, milk, cereal, and I could go on and on. Aint God good! They said they just came to bless us! I of course could not thank them enough. To bad hubby has missed most of the goin-ons this weekend he did get to the b-day party. He works so much. Hope each of you had a great weekend. Storing up the goods

God is so good he always knows our needs. He has made sure we have food even when I was wondering what we would have next. We have gotten a little out of our garden but thanks to friends and family I have been able to put food in the freezer. I have put up squash, collards, zucchini, tomatoes, and cabbage. I have made plum sauce, blueberry jam. I have even made zucchini bread and put some of that in the freezer. I have kale in the fridge now waiting to be washed and put in the freezer. I hope to go get more blueberries to freeze for cobblers. Yum!
I also wanted to give you a little glimpse into some of the things that we see around here on this farm from time to time. I just happened to see these little mice as I walked by a tree. The dogs had given them a scare and they were trying to find protection.

Lulu is suppose to be my youngest sons dog but shes a mommy's girl. Here she had been rolling in a big pile of dirt. She is really darker that the pic because of her playing in the dirt you cant tell her true colors. She is such a sweet pup!
Well that's all for now but I'm going to my granny's b-day (89th) tomorrow. So there will be more news then. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Blessings.

Happy July 4th!

Hope everyone will have a great July 4th as we all celabrate our freedom. Take time to spend in prayer and pray for our soldiers who are out fighting for us to be here with our familes freely. Also pray for our nation as we choose a new president this year, and for all of our other lawmakers, pray for God's guidance in these areas. A poem for the 4th.

THE BRAVE WARRIORS They all fought for the Red, White and Blue. The white men, the black men, the Indians too. They were all heroes, or so it is said,When the blood flowed, it was all crimson red. They all fought for freedom, side by side,Some of them lived, and too many died. They were all valiant soldiers, every man,They gave what they had, to the last stand. We shouldn’t forget them, not one single soul,And we should make sure their story is told. They fought for the freedom of every man,Their bravery is known, across our great land. For those up in heaven, or hell here on Earth,We all thank our fathers, for our life since birth. They all are our heroes, a much treasured lot,And we should thank them for all we have got.So raise up your hands, give thanks to a-highFor all the brave soldiers who lived and died.As our lives go on, and in freedom we live,We thank every soldier, for what he could give. OldWolf

A Happy 49th Anniversary goes out to Aunt Pearl and Uncle Dick on their special day. Blessings to you!
